Your copy already sounded nice but it still isn’t working? Let’s fix that.
Hey, John here. And I help DTC & B2C ecommerce brands write their conversion-focused copy for ads, emails, and websites.
Both ChatGPT and your previous copywriter(s) already know “how” to write copy that “sounds nice”. But knowing the WHY behind crafting this or that copy is an entirely different thing.
No. It’s got nothing to do with perfect grammar. Or creative writing.
Knowing WHY is being able to answer your questions like:
👉 “Why is this headline, of all possible headlines, the one we should roll with?”
👉 “Why this ad copy read too long than we used to do?”
👉 “Why are we sending many emails to different lists? could we just blast them?”
But can anyone… Or has anyone told you “sell with benefits” is entirely bs?
Because anyone can write “features tell, benefits sell” copy.
So here’s what I mean by that…
Writing nice email copy
- They ask who you audience is
- Then ask you how many emails you want
- Tell ChatGPT to write an email for that audience
- Cringe at all the cliches and emojis
- Ask them to edit it
- Realize you’ve spent more time editing than it would have taken to write the email yourself
- Blast the email out to everyone
- Cross your fingers and pray you get more clicks than spam reports and unsubscribes
vs.

10. Create your open loop
11. Write for the rule of ONE
12. Optimize for readability
